چکیده
We consider a further extension of our previous works in the treatment three-dimensional general relativistic Poynting-Robertson effect, which describes motion test particle around compact object as affected by radiation field originating from rigidly rotating and spherical emitting source, produces pressure, opposite to gravitational pull, drag force, removes energy angular momentum particle. The source is modeled non-spherical slowly endowed with mass quadrupole moment an it formally described Hartle-Thorne metric. derive particle's equations two-dimensional cases. then investigate properties critical hypersurfces (regions, where balance between forces established). Finally, we show how this model can be applied treat phenomena occurring vicinity neutron star.

On physics of the Poynting-Robertson effect
Detailed discussion of university textbook statements (Harwit 1988) concerning the Poynting-Robertson effect (P-R effect) is presented. Discussion is concentrated on better physical understanding of the P-R effect. References to complete correct equation of motion for real dust particle are also presented.
متن کاملCrustal Oscillations of Slowly Rotating Relativistic Stars
We study low-amplitude crustal oscillations of slowly rotating relativistic stars consisting of a central fluid core and an outer thin solid crust. We estimate the effect of rotation on the torsional toroidal modes and on the interfacial and shear spheroidal modes. The results compared against the Newtonian ones for wide range of neutron star models and equations of state.
متن کاملThe Poynting-robertson Effect and Secular Changes of Orbital Elements
The Poynting-Robertson (P-R) effect has been applied to meteoroids for several decades. It is well known that the P-R effect produces only changes in the orbital plane of the particle. The differential equations governing the secular changes in both eccentricity and semi-major axis are known since the time of Robertson, provided the initial orbits are not near circular. A disadvantage of this t...
متن کاملReal Dust Particles and Unimportance of the Poynting - Robertson Effect
The importance of the Poynting-Robertson effect on the motion of inter-planetary dust particles is discussed. Precise numerical calculations for real dust particle show that condition for the validity of the Poynting-Robertson effect is not fulfilled. The interaction of the (solar) electromagnetic radiation with really shaped dust particle is different from that which yields the Poynting-Robert...
